The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – Michelle Hodkin

What would you do, if you were Mara Dyer? You wake up in a hospital, and apparently you were the only person that survived..?

The only thing Mara ca remember is that she is the only one who survived the accident, but she doesn’t remember anything leading up to the accident.

After the funeral if her friends, Mara and her family move to a new town, to start all over. And when she thought her life was getting back to normal, she meets Noah Shaw, a classmate. Mara realized that her life is never getting back to normal again.

I can’t tell you a lot about this book, because if I would, I would spoil. A lot. And, my guess is that you are not here for spoilers. Hopefully you’re here because you’re curious about my opinion, and about the book of course.
Well, let’s start with how I ended the book. I ended up wanting more. More of Mara, more of Noah, more of Hodkin’s writing. I loved this book so much! I feel so sad that it had been on my shelf for over two years without me touching it. The biggest reason why it took me a while to pick up, was because I’ve heard lots of negative things about the last book in this trilogy, so I was a bit hesitant. But thank god I read it! I love it so freaking much!

The book grabbed me from the first page, and it never let me go. Not even after me finishing it. The book contains mystery, romance and paranormal elements. Pretty much everything that makes a hell of a book!

I ended up rating it 5 out of 5 stars (big surprise there!)

  1. I’m glad you loved it. It sounds super intriguing. I put it on my TBR a while ago, but I forgot about it. I really should read it soon because it definitely sounds right up my alley. Thanks for reminding me about it. 🙂
