The Orphan Queen – Jodi Meadows

Meet Wilhelmina, our main character. She has over a hundred identities, but her true one, is one of a princess.
When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her home land, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the capital of the Indigo Kingdom.
Now, 10 years later, the orphans who survived go by the name of ‘the Ospreys’ and they are experts of stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina is planning on taking back her throne. Now, she is acting as a spy and is infiltrating the Indigo Kingdom with her best friend, but the palace is filled with their enemies. Will they see through their stolen identities?

This mission of the Ospreys is one of their more dangerous ones. But lately all their missions are becoming more and more dangerous, and their leader Patrick starts to become more and more unstable. Wil can’t trust anyone at this point. And Wraith, a toxic by-product of magic, starts to pour across the continent, even though magic has been forbidden for over a century. The land and its animals are changing, thanks to the Wraith. And it all is also posing a threat to those who are alive. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the only thing that can stop the destruction of the Wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers her magic, she will vanish, like everyone else who uses magic.

Gosh guys. I am pretty sure this book has been on my wish list since its release date, but yet after two years I finally picked it up. And it even was in clearance!!
When I got into a slump I decided to give this book a go. And guess what? It got me out of my slump! So yeah, of course it has to be a good book if it gets me out of my slump. I really loved this book so much! Wilhelmina is an amazing main character. She is so strong and independent and I just love her so much! She is the type of woman that inspires others.

The story overall does have some boring parts, but the exciting ones make up for it! Especially because the exciting parts are super fast-paced!

When you get close to the ending of the book, you don’t want the story to end. And now that I have finished the book, I really need the sequel! And I highly recommend you to get the sequel when you are half-way in the book Because you will NEED it! Gosh, now excuse me, because I really need to buy the sequel!

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars, and I would highly recommend you to read this one!
